Fortaleza: How to Get There

By Plane:

Fortaleza is the main gateway to the state of Ceará, making it easy to reach the city. The Pinto Martins Fortaleza International Airport receives daily national and international flights and offers excellent infrastructure, with restaurant options, a food court, souvenir shops, postal services, VIP lounges, and other services.

International airlines such as Delta, Air France, and KLM have regular flights to Fortaleza, as well as national airlines like Gol, Latam, and Azul.

By Car:

If you plan to rent a car and are coming from another region of Brazil, be aware that Fortaleza is 522 km (around 7.5 hours) from Natal, the capital of Rio Grande do Norte, and the access between them is via the CE-040 highway.

If you are coming from São Luís, the capital of Maranhão, the distance is 899 km (around 13 hours) via the BR-402 highway.

By Bus:

The Fortaleza Bus Station is located about 7 km from Meireles Beach. Among the companies that travel to Fortaleza are Guanabara and Setélite Norte. This can be a good option for those who do not intend to rent a car and want to explore other cities in Ceará, such as Jericoacoara and Canoa Quebrada — two must-see destinations for anyone visiting the state of Ceará.
